As a child, Trudi Canavan wanted to make movies like Star Wars, so she started her story-telling career by drawing pictures. Her first job was drawing maps for the Lonely Planet. She started reading the Aurealis magazine from the first issue. Later, she volunteered as graphic designer for the Aurealis magazine for 9 years. Trudi’s published stories include short stories and a number of trilogies. The Age of Five trilogy is set in Ithania. Her Kyralia series includes the Black Magician Trilogy, the prequel stand-alone Magician’s Apprentice, and the Traitor Spy Trilogy.
Trudi Canavan talks about all her novels, shows us her writing space and answered fans’ questions. In the video interview Trudi gives us a tour of her pinboard in her writing space. This is why the video interview is longer than the audio version.
This interview is available as a podcast at the top of this post and on iTunes, Spotify, Blubrry, Stitcher, Pocket Cast, Castbox, TuneIn etcetera. A video of this interview is below. In 2011 Trudi also talked to Nalini Haynes of Dark Matter; that interview is available in text format here.
Trudi Canavan can be found on her website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
I updated this post because it had lost Trudi’s photo. While fixing that, I also fixed some SEO issues. I didn’t change the content and intent of this page although I massaged the text into a more readable and SEO-friendly format.
