The Wit & Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister is an illustrated hardcover book quoting Tyrion from the Song of Ice and Fire novels, not necessarily the TV series Game of Thrones. Illustrations of Tyrion are definitely not of Peter Dinklage as Tyrion; this dude is definitely shorter and uglier as GRRM has said Tyrion is supposed to be.
Somewhat like the Tao of Pooh, The Wit & Wisdom is a collection of memorable quotes, like “All dwarfs are bastards, yet not all bastards need be dwarfs.” Each page has either one quote, an illustration or a heading; the emphasis is on presentation not quantity.
The illustrations tend to the comedic. In one, Tyrion has a Pinocchio-like long nose. In another, Tyrion is dressed as a baby cupid complete with bow and arrow; only a valentine preserves his modesty. In a parody of Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, Tyrion is, thankfully, fully clothed.
This is a cute coffee table book suitable for fans of the books and the TV show as well as the philosophical collector of pop culture memorabilia.
