Shadow KissA review by Elizabeth Manthos

Rose Hathaway knows it’s forbidden to love another guardian and Lissa must always come first, but ever since she met Dimitri that rule was always meant to be broken…

Ever since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn’t been feeling right. A dark shadow on her mind and the scarring reappearance of Mason lets off warning bells. A terrible and dark evil is coming. That’s all she needs, just when Victor Dashkov goes on trial for the atrocious crimes he committed against Lissa and Rose.

Lying to Lissa about Dimitri is taking its toll on Rose and then the darkness finally befalls St Vladimir’s. Rose is trapped in an epic battle to rival most nightmares and with a heartbreaking choice, between doing what’s right – her duty – or dropping everything for love, what will prevail.

Shadow Kiss the graphic novel: although many, many pages shorter, the graphic novel does not deplete the story at all. Moving at a faster pace, everything that any fan would want is encompassed in the colourful pages. Anyone picking it up without reading the novel won’t miss out on the juicy parts of the story.

The art was magically drawn, bringing to life the characters that any Vampire Academy fan has had locked in their imagination since reading the novels. Emma Vieceli did an amazing job with the art for the graphic novel.

I sincerely hope that the publication of the graphic novels will continue. I absolutely love them and they allow you to have a quick Vampire Academy fix. I highly recommend these to not only Vampire Academy fans, but anyone who has an interest in any young adult paranormal novels.
