You may have noticed that Dark Matter Zine has not published any new posts lately. After years of pain, recent diagnostic procedures put my pain levels over the top while waiting for surgery. Then, last month, a surgeon removed an 8 centimetre (3.15 inches) cyst among other things. My pain relief medications then combined to give me a life-threatening condition, from which I’m still recovering.
The good news? Everything was benign, I’m recovering and Dark Matter Zine will soon return to the new normal.
The new normal means at least a couple of posts a week plus Ian Gunn’s silly illos. I’m also lining up an interview or two with authors on representation of minorities.
I plan to return to my studies next week as well, even if I’m working at home and not on campus. Healing is a process.
Below is a photo of me just after the surgeon told me everything he removed was benign.
Hope your recovery goes very well and without complication. Hooray for benign!
Thank you very much! This week I’ve felt a significant improvement although I won’t be up to doing Steptember this year. 🙂
Thank you so much!
