S E Tolsen on horror and the human condition Part 2

Emma Olsen and Vere Tindale are wife and husband writing team S E Tolsen

Introduction

This is a Dark Matter Zine podcast and I’m your host Nalini Haynes. Today’s podcast is part 2 of my conversation with the husband and wife team who are S E Tolsen. Part 1 of this conversation is here.

Dark Matter Zine Acknowledges this recording is taking place on the unceded Country of the Bunurong Peoples’ of the Kulin Nation as Traditional Owners and Custodians of this Country. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Introducing S E Tolsen

S E Tolsen is the pseudonym of husband and wife writing team Emma Olsen and Vere Tindale. Emma was born in Wellington, New Zealand and Vere in Johannesburg, South Africa. They are both graduates of Victoria University, New Zealand. Bunny is their first novel, adapted from their screenplay Crepuscular. Crepuscular was a nominee for Best Feature Screenplay at the 2018 Renegade Film Festival. They live in Brisbane, Australia.

Update

S E Tolsen have a Spotify playlist for their novel, Bunny. My apologies for not including this earlier but I injured myself on Friday resulting in a trip to Emergency then a follow up with a GP, plus yesterday I was harassed and threatened by tradies in the street adjacent to where I live because a disabled woman walking on the opposite side of the street to their building site is apparently threatening for these big tough men… basically, it’s been quite a week. My apologies none the less.

Thanks

My next podcast guest is Charles Soule, author, screenwriter and consultant for Marvel TV series.

Thank you to today’s guests, authors Emma Olsen and Vere Tindale! This has been a Dark Matter Zine podcast, and I’m your host Nalini Haynes. Thank you for listening, stay safe and have fun.

Acknowledgement of Country

Dark Matter Zine Acknowledges this recording is taking place on the unceded Country of the Bunurong Peoples’ of the Kulin Nation as Traditional Owners and Custodians of this Country. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

(I have occasionally acknowledged Country in podcasts. This year I aim to lift my game in many areas, so I plan to Acknowledge Country in every podcast. An Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners can be done by anyone. It’s a way of showing awareness of, and respect for, the Aboriginal Traditional Owners of the land where a meeting or event is held. For more information about Country and respect for Australia’s First Nations, read this post that also has links to useful websites.)
