UPDATE:  this competition has closed.

I hand-balled the two best competition entries to Rowena for final judging without names.  Rowena decided to reward both entries, so we have two winners!

Lindsay Walker’s entry:

Terry Prattchett. I’ve never read any books quite like those set in the Discworld. He plays with words in such a way that it’s near impossible to translate in other mediums. The man is brilliant. Dedicating an entire book about DEATH bringing toys to children. That’s too funny. His stories are so enticing and full of clever british wit. I have so much love for his books that my second daughters middle name is Pratchett. And we no longer celebrate christmas in our house. We have Hogswatch.

P.S. Ook

Debra Downey’s entry:

If I could have dinner with any author living or dead I would choose Robert Jordan.
I am a HUGE Wheel of Time fan and could think of nothing more wonderful than having dinner with the man who started it all!

The competition
