How to tell that movies are going to suck
I’m fed up with Hollywood regurgitating the same old stories and, worse still, pumping out generic trash. While I’m not a fan of subtitles, I prefer watching movies with subtitles than some of the crap that’s coming our way at the moment. io9 presents a good article on how to tell if a movie is going to blow. I’ve picked up on a lot of these queues without even realising it but I think they’ve summarised the clues clearly and comprehensively. It’s worth a read, especially before going to see movies like Battleship and Prometheus. Simple escapism, mindless action, pretty bangs and flashes while being short-changed on dialogue and character development are ok sometimes, but if you’re hoping for a decent movie it can feel like a real gip.
