On June 08 2012, Margo talked to me (MP3 – podcast format) about her writing career, trying her hand at poetry, her novels, short stories and novellas, including Sea Hearts. Transforming short stories into collections like Black Juice and Tender Morsels.
Margo’s blog, where she seems to almost want to be anonymous, is here. Margo’s very brief and modest self-blurb copied from her website says:
I write fiction. My latest novel is Sea Hearts, published by Allen & Unwin in Australia—this novel is published as The Brides of Rollrock Island by David Fickling Books and Jonathan Cape in the UK, and will come out under that title from Knopf in the US in September 2012. I’ve also written Tender Morsels and five short story collections:White Time, Black Juice, Red Spikes, Yellowcake and Cracklescape. |
Even Wikipedia doesn’t list all of Margo’s award nominations and wins, which were the subject of hilarity on a panel at Continuum 8 when Peter Ball, the moderator, kept underestimating nominations and wins.
