Melbourne Supanova featured K J Taylor as a guest speaker. I seized the opportunity to speak to Katie about her career and her novels. That interview is available below in MP4 (video) and MP3 (audio only) formats.
One of the things that impressed me deeply about Katie is her work ethic and commitment to fans. Many published authors write the next book as it’s contracted; not so with Katie! She’s already published one trilogy and the first two installments of the next trilogy. The third part of the second trilogy is completed and under contract but not yet published. Katie has already finished drafting the NEXT TWO TRILOGIES.
They’re all stand-alone trilogies featuring different but related characters, so while the loyal reader is rewarded with added depth of world and story, the new reader can jump right in with any new trilogy.
Apparently the publisher is looking at possibly contracting the third trilogy, so if you’re an avid reader of low fantasy with politics and shades of grey, now is the time to jump on board.
Katie definitely is not your girly girl. When nosing around Katie’s website I found this blog with a link to this image that is, apparently, Katie’s PC wallpaper. My reaction? EEEW! Which is why that image is SO NOT going up here.
