Hentai fan jailed
Ronald Clarke was sent to jail in New Zealand for downloading and watching Hentai (Japanese cartoons depicting sex). Apparently some of the pixies and trolls depicted having sex were clearly meant to be young even though they were also clearly not meant to be human.
I anticipate outrage from some readers because no children were harmed in the making of Hentai.
Clarke’s court case might set a legal precedent, but a very important mitigating factor with Clarke is his prior history: Clark has previous convictions for indecently assaulting a teenage boy. Could a sexual predator watching cartoon porn featuring young characters  lead to future indecent assaults on young people? Will this legal precedent concerning a known offender impact on other law-abiding people? How does society effectively protect children and teenagers from sexual predators?
I want to encourage discussion of this hot topic, but please: keep your comments clean and respectful, regardless of which side of the debate you’re on.
