Lifeline in Brisbane is selling thousands of cheap books second-hand. The bookfest runs for 10 days from January 19 to 28 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Get in fast!

- Consider getting there early, and allow yourself plenty of time.
- Bring carry bags or a trolley bag to get your purchases home.
- Wear comfortable shoes.
- Visit multiple times to take advantage of refreshed stock.

There is all the usual stuff you don’t want (Dan Brown & friends) but you do come across the occasional hard to find that has come from someone’s collection to fill holes in the collection as well as cheap contemporary.
As the money goes to lifeline I have no problems donating.
This seems like the ideal fundraiser to me. I get books, they get my money. <3 Sadly, it being in BRISBANE while I'm in MELBOURNE (the cultural heart of Australia :P) means that I can't make it.
