AViVA

AViVADark Matter Zine welcomes special guest AViVA.

Aviva Anastasia Payne, professionally known as AViVA, is an Australian singer-songwriter and author, a multidisciplinary artist with international success, garnering more than three billion global streams of her music to date.

Having always been a lover of stories and made-up worlds, she has fed her passion for self-expression with a healthy lifestyle of creativity and writing. When not writing music or touring the world, AViVA can be found in her home library either nose deep in a good book, fingers busy writing at the keyboard or otherwise occupied in her art studio, sewing or making something else she’s dreamt up.

Since breaking into the music world in 2017, she has explored the themes of control and isolation. AViVA describes her songs as being about the ‘outsider experience’, an experience she expresses in all her lyrics, musical videos and accompanying imagery. With her unique alternative pop-rock emo sound, AViVA has created a groundswell online, building a strong community of fans – her ‘Outsiders’.

Her two novels, Self/Less and Relentless are creatively linked with her music, expanding the City of Metropolis beyond the page. Listen here: https://fanlink.to/avivamusic

Apologies

Apologies to AViVA and fans for this late posting of the podcast. I’ve been seriously ill, in and out of hospital. Then, just to put the icing on the cake, my desktop computer – my only computer that provides disability access when working at the back end of my website – decided to be REALLY difficult. After a trip to the Genius Bar, the minion followed instructions for cleaning up the computer. AND IT GOT WORSE. Hilarious. Well, it’s hilarious now the minion has recovered all my lost files. At least I think he has. Fingers crossed!

And now my chat with AViVA, one of the too-few highlights of my life in the past month or two, is finally online! YAY!

Where to find AViVA

If you’re not already one of AViVA’s Outsiders, you can find her at her website that, in turn, links you to ALL her socials.

Thanks

Thanks again to special guest AviVA. Her positive outlook is precious in these times. And to all my awesome listeners and supporters out there. Thanks for joining me on this journey.

Soon I will publish a post titled “I aten’t dead” that gives a bit of an update on what’s been happening, showcases my seeing eye dog Silkie LYING ON HOSPITAL BEDS, and gives a brief catch up with a few reviews.

Rather than try to write the Yoast-mandated minimum length review in the Yoast-mandated style, I’ll do a quicker catch up and, hopefully, have some fun writing the reviews. Partly because all the drugs and all the withdrawals I’ve been dealing with over the last month or so have made my normal review style inaccessible TO ME. So I’ll do something a bit less formal and a bit more … exploratory. We’ll see how that goes.

Thanks again. Stay safe. Wear a mask. Especially if you have to go to hospital. No PARTIKERLAR reason for adding that, heh heh. And have fun. We only live once!
